Ballerina

Lots of pictures lately. Here’s my next effort in trying to catch up. This is Ashlee’s dance recital that she performed last year in June. She’s planning on picking up ballet again this fall and she’s pretty excited. When asked why ballet instead of soccer this fall, she replied, “Because I have a lot of leotards that I haven’t used in a long time!”

And even though I usually post these on Picasa Web Albums, I really love Flickr. I tend to post pictures there more often than I do on Picasa. Here is Becky’s & mine photostream. In order to see all the pictures on our photostream (as in the pictures of family and stuff), join Flickr and add us as a contact. Personal pictures we’ve only made viewable to family and friends.

Alert!

For a limited time only… Ashlee has been ‘published’ of a sort. She made a video and submitted it to ty.com (the beanie baby website). It’s titled binie babby partty, By: ashlee. If you head to their main page, it will show up in the main window at the top of the middle section. You may get a couple of flash adds and stuff. Just click ‘skip’ until you get to the ‘featured video playlist’. Her’s is usually the second one listed. She was so excited today when she went to the website and saw her video was up. She’ll yelled, “My party is on!”

Diabetes walk

I uploaded these photos awhile ago, but I’m just now getting to posting them. August is just nasty at work every year, even for those of us that aren’t going out to cover football two-a-days. Anyway, these are all pictures from our diabetes walk that we did last September.

JDRF 2007

Wow, that almost took a full year to get posted! I know you’re all waiting for those Halloween pictures from last year. They’ll be here soon (hopefully before this year’s Halloween).

Sword Seminar

I’m trying to get caught up a little with posting pictures and stuff. So, I know these are a little bit older, but they were next ones up. Nick attended a sword seminar for karate way back last fall. Those of you who know me well enough will know that I think it’s pretty cool that the little guy is learning some weapons, especially swords. Dual wield even. Swords FTW!

The Struggle Over Water

So here’s the scene, Saturday afternoon, I’m on the ladder cleaning the gutters, Becky is weeding in the front, the kids were in the back in their little swimming pool. All of the sudden Nick comes flying around the corner onto the front porch, Ashlee in hot pursuit, a furious look on her face. Nick gets to the front door and turns around, he and Ashlee clasp hands in a bitter confrontation. Nick trying to hold his sister off, Ashlee trying desperately to get to Nick. Becky asks Nick what’s wrong and he says, “Ashlee is trying to attack me!” We all look to Ashlee for an explanation, and she blurts out, “He keeps complaining that the water’s too cold and I DON’T WANT TO HEAR IT!”

The missing photos

This was captured at the Cleveland Zoo. Yeah, I don’t know what’s going on here. Maybe I had to go to the bathroom and couldn’t walk the 15 meters behind me. Maybe I got lost and couldn’t figure out where the rest of the family was. And just maybe it’s a case of the jock itch via poison oak.

(And no… I don’t have a hump… that’s the backpack thingy geez!)

1 Week Down

Well, the first week of summer vacation is in the books. Somewhat ‘normal’ from my end, but I’m sure it seemed longer than usual for Becky! Here’s a couple of interesting tidbits that occurred at the beginning of the week.

Ashlee on what she’s looking forward to now that school is out:
“… I’m glad there’s no school anymore, now I can sleep in EVERYDAY!”

Are you kidding me? She’s 6! When did 6 year old kids start worrying about sleeping in? Seriously, she’s 6 going on 16. Becky usually has to drag her out of bed in the morning in just enough time to make it out the door for school. We’re all in trouble. Just be ready grandparents, we may have to ship her out to one of you for the summer when she gets to be too much for us! (jk little princess)

So we’re watching the last round of the US Open (golf… I know… I think I’ve reached that age?). Tiger, Westwood, Mediate were battling it out down the stretch. I flipped to TNT, which was showing Jurassic Park or something (one of the kids favorites) during a commercial, and Nick jumped all over me for switching the channels. Wow, didn’t know the kid would rather watch golf over dinosaurs. Just a little FYI for future reference. It’s scary to think of Nick on the golf course. He’s got enough losing issues playing his DS or Wii or laptop. He regularly goes all Happy Gilmore when things aren’t going his way. Yeah… I think golf is the perfect sport for him!

It should be an interesting summer.

10 year low?

Some of you may have read about Becky and Sarah’s little contest for some tasty Australian meat pies. Well, even though I’m not officially part of that contest, I think I’m beating both of them in the weight loss category, and I’m prepared for both of them to each buy me some meat pies.

So what am I getting at? Well, I officially tipped the scales at 189.4 this morning. Which marks the first time I’ve been below 190 in something like ten or so years. For the record, I’ve always said I’d like to get back down to 185 (which is what I think I weighed when Becky and I were married), but I’ve never been in a real rush to get there.

And what is my secret. Well, I contribute it to my ‘special’ diet. Cold cereal, pizza, ice cream, and a whole lot of sugary snacks! Oh, and don’t forget the handfuls of fruit loops with some swigs of milk (skim at least) right before going to bed. I think that’s really important.

Message to Becky and Sarah…

OWNED!
