The new Apple ads are out and they’re pretty entertaining, as long as you’re not a diehard Windows person. So if you’ve got a high speed connection or are willing to wait a couple of minutes for the download, and you’re not a diehard Windows person, check them out.

Winners announced
This is a little bit of older news (I’ve been sitting on it since January), but the past two or three years the Original Mac Games Cup has been held by iDevGames. The winners for the latest contest have been announced.

iTunes Smart Playlists
Here’s one way to build the ultimate playlist in iTunes. One that covers what you’ve listened to the most. One that covers your highest rated songs. One that covers both new songs and old song you love but may have forgotten about. For sure this isn’t the only way to do things. But if you don’t use all the things mentioned in this article, at least reading it will get you in the right frame of mind to build your own ultimate playlist.
National Gas Map
As the cost gets disturbingly closer to $3.00/gallon in our area, I’m all for anything to help me save a few cents. We never seem to have one gas station in our area that is consistantly the lowest. It’s a little frustrating. Hopefully this will help some of you also.
Progress
Since I got up early with Frankie this morning (he’s another story I’ve yet to get to), I made one more subtle change to the design of the site. I’ve very pleased with how it all looks now. Maybe a special prize can be had for the one who points out what change I made. And no, the three articles I’ve posted today do not count.
Right now, the title is displayed using a font specified in the code or your browser’s default sans-serif font if one of the specific fonts listed in the code isn’t installed on your computer. I’m toying with the idea of replacing that with a graphic of our title, similar to what’s on the Main page. Right now though, I like how things look with the Lucida Grande (OS X) or Verdana (Windows) fonts.
Map Gallery of Religion in the US
Interesting to see the different religions in the US and how they are spread out geographical. You can see what the main religion is in Steve’s area.
Map Gallery of Religion in the United States
A lot of Baptists for the majority of his area with Catholics right along the gulf.
Earth View
I found this a while back and I’m just now getting around to posting it. But Earth View is a view of Earth as it would look from the Sun. It’s updated to the second every time you hit the refresh button in your web browser. The link below is to the 1024 pixel image. You can change the size by scrolling down and inputing a new size near the bottom of the page:
Also visit the main page where you can see a map of the whole Earth showing day and night regioins, view the Earth from the Sun, Moon, or dark side, view any location on Earth via longitude and latitude, and even view the Moon from the Sun, Earth, or dark side. Their are many more interesting options you can select so you’ll just have to go and see for yourself:
He Speaks… er… Writes
We got an email from Stephen this afternoon! I know that we received it and Mom and Dad received it. If anyone hasn’t seen it let me know. I’ll probably put something together similar to what I did for Josh while he was galavanting out of the country. His first area is Monroe, LA.
New Diggs
Something looking different around here? About a week ago I finally managed to upgrade to WordPress 2.0.2. I had originally tried to upgrade a couple of months ago when version 2 first came out. But something went wrong and it wasn’t accessing the database correctly. Anyway, with the upgrade to the new version, the page to write posts has changed a bit. At some point I’ll put up an article on how to write a post. Until then though, a couple quick things. Look to the right when you are writing an article and you’ll see some options with ‘+’ symbols to the right. Click the ‘+’ next to Categories, then select the category for your post. The other major change is that you can upload files on the same page where you write a post. It’s just below the text area.
The other change, as you can tell, is that I’m finally getting around to changing the theme so it looks more like our ‘SunEagleClan’ pages. There are still a couple of little touches I’d like to add but it looks good enough now to put it into production as they say.
Any questions with the new look or upgrade just email or post a comment. Now, it’s back to homework. Finally, the last week of the semester is here.
