Hey everyone, just posting a shout out to y’all. Things here at Jacob Lake are going pretty good, especially when it snows like it did yesterday and we get mobbed by hundreds of bikers who would like a place to stay and all we can offer is the lobby. For the most part its been a fun experience for me as a waiter, especially when you play with the minds of little kids by sharing with them that the ugly egg on the top of the salisbury steak is the eggs of all the little ugly ducklings that never hatched, or telling them that the Kaibab jagerschnitzel is in fact the famed Kaibab Squirrel, and then patiently explaining that jagerschnitzel is German for squirrel (and yes Andrea, I know that isn’t true).
Probably the most exciting occurrence was yesterday when I was running to the basketball courts and then tripped going downhill and tore my knee up a good one. They were gonna try and fix it here until they cleared the blood a little bit and were able to see my patella so they ran me to Kanab hospital and I had to get me some more stitches and sutures as well as some antbiotics to prevent infection. So yeah, that was a pretty fun experience. Kinda like the time that I got hecka burnt at Lake Powell…….

The New Family Addition
Here is the newest addition to Laurie and Justin’s famly. For pictures and such, go here!
Go Cowboys!
In the first round of state, the Camp Verde Cowboys narrowly escaped with a 54-51 win over the Bisbee Pumas. After trailing for most of the game, the Cowboys took a three point lead halfway through the third quarter and were able to hold on for the remainder of the game. The win puts the Cowboys in the sweet sixteen where they’ll face number one seeded Maricopa. “We’ll have to play a heck of a lot better than we did today to make it a good game” Co-Captain Matthew Freeman said after the victory.

Here’s a pretty cool thing I ran into at espn.com that (sorta) compares NBA players to things in our galaxy
Brigh-Ands Publicity Ad
Following the tremendous success of their smash hit “A Pioneer’s Life” and their record setting #1 record, the talented and well received band from Arizona launched their second album to the delight of many fans (and even some curious passers-by) and the befuddlement and ire of rival groups just months after the first. “We were kinda flustered by the numerous responses of many fans ( especially those that said they would bake us a cake)” said singer/song writer Chris Freeman “and we felt that we owed it to the public to come out with more songs as soon as we could.” The new album was unveiled while the group was on tour in an undisclosed location and was received as warmly, if not more, than the first.
The tour was halted, however when band member Josh Freeman was married to his (insert period of time here)-time sweethart. Although this put a damper on a noticiceable amount of female fans, the news was welcomed warmly by other band members, who were forced with decisions concerning the future of the band.
At least one band member, Matt, has used his new found popularity to try and launch a movie career just like his long time idol Justin Timberlake. Adopting the stage name of Shad Rockford, he recently produced, wrote, directed, provided costumes, and starred in what he calls “an original classic” known to the public as “Harry Potter and the Sunken Gimblet of Sires”. This news came as a surprise to friends and family of the popular singer, most of whom did not know about the project until it was scheduled for release in the Summer of 2006.
“He always is talking about what an idiot Harry Potter is, mmmkay, and we were all shocked that he would take the part, mmkay.” said a spokesman for the family.
Another band member, Stephen, chose a low profile piano job that kept him busy during the band’s “temprorary disengagement” and was seen playing at weddings, dances, and even Bar Mitzvahs.
Chris, determined to keep the band together, kept working on the idea of launching a third album. He single-handedly kept the group together for what many thought was a final album that showed promise of things to come. “I don’t know what all this talk about a break up is, please” he remarked later “I only know that as long as we have a strong group of supporters we will continue to give the world our best, please.” He also squandered any rumors of affiliations with a certain VFD and denied any knowings of any shady character asking “Who is this Count Olaf please?”
This third album portrays the unique genius that has become the hallmark of the band and appeals generally to those known as “Old timers” as the Brigh-Ands take a trip down (someone else’s) memory lane to revisit the songs of yesteryear.
