Christmas 2011 List

OK, over the Memorial Day weekend, a majority of you said to go ahead and do the name draw for Christmas this year. I’ll also email this list out to you all. (As a side note, after I left XETV I merged my work contacts with my Yahoo contacts and some of the preferred email addresses got jumbled up. Now I don’t know if which of the several email addresses I have from some of you are your preferred email – or even work anymore. If you get this email from a different email address than your preferred email, please let me know what your preferred email address is. Or if you don’t get the email, please let me know as well.)

So without further ado, here’s the list:
Jere has Trish
Becky has Josh
Melissa has Jere
Joe has Chris
Justin has Catherine
Laurie has Stephen
Will has Becky
Trish has Justin
Catherine has Leah
Chris has Amy
Leah has Matt
Josh has Joe
Andrea has Tianna
Stephen has Andrea
Amy has Will
Matt has Laurie
Tianna has Melissa

I made sure no one drew someone from the same household as last year, but if some of you switched and I need to make changes, please let me know.

Please remember the limit is $20. Happy shopping – only 201 days until Christmas!

Merry Christmas!!

Actually, I was just thinking about doing the drawing of Christmas gift exchange names for this year. Does anyone think it’s still too early for that? Let me know if you do – and if you still haven’t sent your Christmas gift to whomever you had this past Christmas, I hope you’ve already apologized/explained why no gift/justified. I’m sure it’s OK and I’m sure you’re forgiven. I know this Christmas was a pretty tight one for a lot of us.

On an unrelated note, I’m afraid Joe is going to win our little contest of which of us will find new employment first. It seems his job skills are in much more demand than those of a good manager. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers! We’ll let you know as soon as anything changes here in San Diego.

Happy Irish!

SO, it’s Spring Break here, and since I have nothing better to do I decided to figure out just how Irish I am.

Our (meaning me and my siblings) 7th-Great Grandparents, Daniel Malone and Mary Busby, were born in Ireland in the 1640s. So that makes us 1/512 Irish.

I found a calculator online that figures blood volume using gender, height, and weight, and it said I have 5.97 liters of blood. Doing the math and conversions, it turns out I have about 2.4 teaspoons of Irish blood flowing through me. Who knew?

Valentine’s Day Project

Hello everyone! I have in mind a family history project for those of you who are married. It is inspired by Valentine’s day, but of course, as I know how busy we all are, you do not have to have it done by then. I call it “Sweetheart Stories.”

I would love to hear everyone’s stories about them and their sweethearts. Here is a list of guidelines for what I’m looking for:

1) You and your sweetheart’s names (include maiden name, too–this is, after all, family history!)
2) How you met (and when–approximate if you don’t know a date, such as fall of 2002 for example; the circumstances; first impressions of each other, if you remember)
3) Dating/courtship (include when you were dating; memorable dates, what kinds of things you did together; picture(s) of you when you were dating, if you have any)
4) Engagement (when and where, details!; picture(s) if you have one)
5) Wedding Story (when and where you got married; details of the day; reception/open house details; any other special things of note; pictures–3 to 5 of your favorites)
6) How things are now (Be brief–you might say how long you have been married, kids you have, how your life is, your feelings for each other now, etc. You do not have to be overly gooey! Also, a current family picture would be nice.)
7) Date you completed this

If you all would just post this as a blog post on suneagle, then we could all have each others’. I would love to print them off and make them into a book for my family, as I think it would be so fun to read through with my kids.
