Picture clarification

So, in case you were thinking that picture was a phenomenal photshop job, sorry to disappoint, but that’s me sitting at the table in the media room. How many greats have sat at that same table?  I was just playing around though. My real press conference was at the high school. Okay, so I didn’t really have a press conference. That IS me sitting at that table though.

On an unrelated note, Dan Patrick was talking about sports mulligans today (things that happened in sports that the principals would want to have a “do-over” for), and my submission made the cut to be read on-air, and posted on his website. The post is here right under the Ty Willingham pic. (WARNING: It’s a Sports Illustrated site, and one of the current banner ads that may pop up is to order your swimsuit calendar.) You have to fast forward to find it, but the audio is here here in hour 2, almost 3/4 of the way through, after the Charles Barkley segment. If you need a history lesson, let me know.

It’s official!

The contract has been signed, and I’m officially back in the saddle as an assistant coach with one of the local basketball teams.

OK, not that one. (That would be pretty sweet though, eh?)

In real life, I’m Varsity Assistant with CH High. Our mission is to “Renew the Tradition” as we aim to take a program that has won a total of 13 games over the last three seasons back to prominence (2 state championships in the 80’s). First day of practice is Monday. Go Tigers!

End of summer

Here’s some current pictures. These pretty much sum up our whole Labor Day. It was the last day of vacation for the kids (and parents) so we wanted to fill it with stuff they like to do.

Last Day of Summer Vacation!

It’s hard to believe that summer is already over. The house is pretty vacant now, kind of like an empty nest. The kids are in school, when Becky isn’t in class she’s volunteering at the hospital, and Jere is either at work, at class, or at basketball (woohoo!). If you call and we don’t pick up… it’s because nobody is home! ;)

The first week back was long for everyone. Ashlee wanted to stay home from school on Friday because she was too tired. Speaking to other parents at school, this seemed to be a common Friday morning theme last week. Nick I think is enjoying the fact that all of his closest friends are in the same class this year (as opposed to only 1 last year). I thought this was a good thing at first when I left him the first day of school sitting at a table with all his buddies. Then I got to thinking the rest of the day and decided I’d be kind of scared to have to teach those 8 or so boys all at once! Becky is still trying desperately to get into a section of chemistry. And as for me… it seemed like there were 8 work days in this 4 day work week. When’s Thanksgiving break!

Another ty.com alert!

Hopefully most of you received an email recently about Ashlee’s submission in the Make My Beanie contest at ty.com. She drew up a beanie and submitted it. The top vote getters will have their beanie actually made for them. We’re trying to get her as much votes as possible. You can vote once per day. Please head on over to her submission page and cast your vote!
