Caroline qualified for the Boston Marathon this year. Wayne posted video of her running by…
And here’s her results!
Jacob and Elsie are big fans of the Nasty Nasty Nasty Plunge, and last night, Milayna started doing it, too.
But I was thinking, when did this originate? Who came up with it? And I seem to remember that we used to do it at the river? Which of you older kids remember the details?
When you here The Eagles you’re either talking about the rock band, The Eagles, or you are talking about what Tolkien characters say just when it looks like our heroes are on their last leg. For this time though, I’m talking about the band.
Bill Simmons is one of my favorite author/columnist. I was first introduced to his basketball opinions by a coworker when he was the man headlining ESPN.com’s 2nd Page. He’s also the author of The Book of Basketball, a great read if you haven’t read it. You may have noticed him in studio with Magic, Barkley, and Wilbon during the NBA playoffs. He also is one of the people responsible for Grantland.
Recently on Grantland, he wrote up a review of his favorite movie so far of the summer. It’s not Star Trek or Man of Steel. It’s The History of the Eagles, Part One.
Tons of stuff there, here’s a couple other links I looked through after reading the review:
Email responses to the review
2003 conversation with Henley and Frey.
And a BBC documentary about the LA music scene from the 60s to the 70s.
Just a warning, there is some language and drug use in the movie, articles, and documentary (dude, it was rock in the 70s, what do you expect?). But it was pretty interesting since I know most of us love their songs.
Who came up with this idea? Anyone want to try it?
Video and pictures from Ashlee’s 5th Grade Graduation ceremony earlier this evening.
Grats Ashlee!!!
Nick’s 8th grade graduation was this morning. Here’s a quick video and some pictures of the ceremony and celebration.
Grats Nick! I can’t believe we’ve got a high school freshman in the house.
Here’s a couple of pictures of the kids while on FaceTime with Grandma and Grandpa in CV.
And also the song Ashlee played for Becky for Mother’s Day and later on FaceTime for Grandma. She’s only been playing the violin for a couple months. She didn’t have the sheet music for this, she just figured it out on her own.
If you haven’t heard or seen it, there’s an awesome new Christmas carol out that you can download for free, and I’m in the choir on the recording (see if you can find me in the video!). Enjoy, and Merry Christmas!
In case anybody missed them, here are some recent clips of Ty Detmer and his recent induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. It was amazing that for his size how far and how accurate he could pass the ball down the field, even on the run. And his presence in the pocket was amazing.
So sad, when was the last time we saw a BYU quarterback actually hit a receiver in stride… oh wait… a couple weeks ago… New Mexico State. Start Lark!
His Heisman year, when he upset #1 Miami the first game of the season, that was the greatest sports event I have ever attended.
Saw this video about Coach Rose. Then saw Matt sitting at the table at the very end. Dude, they’re paying you to work, and all you do is sit around an watch?!?!
